Priscilla May (Meyer) Freese, 80

Priscilla May (Meyer) Freese passed away on Monday, October 18th, 2021, at home surrounded by her loved ones while under the care of the Iowa River Hospice. She was 80 years young.

Priscilla was the daughter of Wayne and Ila (Breer) Meyer. Born October 19th, 1940, in Marshalltown, Iowa. She graduated high school in 1958 from Melbourne. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Elmer Leo Freese on July 9th, 1960, at Saint Henry’s Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. A few years later, she began a family of her own blessed with a daughter, Cindy (Freese) Westerman and a son Marty Freese. You could always catch Priscilla and Elmer at their kids’ extracurricular activities, whether it be at a ball game or a cattle show. She spent her adult life working outside of the home at Fisher Controls, Marshalltown Manufacturing and JBS, which she had retired from.

Priscilla loved the outdoor life on her family farm, spending her later years with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed her Friday afternoon lunches with her gal pals.

Priscilla is survived by her children Cindy and Marty; grandchildren: Bradly Klosterman, Chelsea (Zach) VanHorn, Danielle (Shawn) Klosterman, Alyssia Klosterman, Rylee Freese, Seth Freese; great grandchildren: Emma, Brayden, Brody, Lincoln, Maddox and Paige; sibling Rosemary (Meyer) Berry and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, her parents, grandparents, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and son-in-law, Steve Westerman.

Services will be held at Mitchell Family Funeral Home on Friday, October 22 at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will take place one hour prior, beginning at 1:00 P.M.
