Anita Rene Sisson
Anita Rene Sisson was born on March 14, 1951, in Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Delores (Harms) Batta. She passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021, in Greenfield, Iowa, at the age of 70.
Anita grew up in rural Lidderdale and Carroll, Iowa, where she also attended school. She was married to Fredrick Weitl in 1970 at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll then later divorced. She was married to Rick L. Sisson at Trinity Episcopal Church in Carroll on Feb. 2, 1991. Anita and Rick lived in Carroll until 1998 when they moved to Albion, IA, then to LeGrand and Tama, IA. Six months ago they moved to Greenfield.
Anita waitressed at the former Tonys Restaurant in Carroll. She became manager at Happy Joes Pizza, then at Pella Corp. in Carroll. After moving to Albion, she began employment at Central Iowa Residential Services Inc. (CIRCI). She held a supervisor position in a group home until retirement in 2014. She took pride in her work and treated the residents of the home like family. Their families knew their loved ones were treated with kindness and were loved.
Anita enjoyed woodcrafts, reading, listening to music, sharing with family on Facebook and visiting the U.P. of Michigan. Her greatest enjoyment was spoiling and playing with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Delores Batta, grandparents Helen and Alfred Schroeder; a brother, George Batta; her sister Vicky Nolte; grandson Levon Weitl and sisters-in-law Mary Rogers and Lori Anderson.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Rick Sisson; her children: Leah (Rod) Becker, of Casey, IA, and Steve (Annette) Weitl, of Burlington, IA, Shelly (Kevin) Pester, of Sioux City, IA, Nick (Tarra) Sisson, of Rolston, IA, Katie (Zackary) Schwarz, of Carroll, IA, and, Travis Sisson, of Des Moines, IA.
Anita has nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is also survived by her brother Rick and his wife Wanda Batta.
Celebration of Life Services: Will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield. (formerly Steen Funeral Home) Mr. Ken Sidey will officiate the service. Luncheon and fellowship with the family: Will be held at the Cornerstone Fellowship Church immediately following the service.
Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Monday, January 3, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield.
