Donald Eugene Vokoun was known to his friends as “Bubby.” He was the only child born to Robert “Bob” and Judy Vokoun on July 24, 1965. Additionally, he had shared the same birthday with his grandmother Leona Donaldson and therefore honored the name of Donald.

Don enjoyed roller-skating, fishing and camping with family and friends, helping his uncle Jim Tough on the farm, but most of all he enjoyed working on cars and traveling with his dad in his semi. Additionally and by far the most important thing was his family.

In 1992, Don met the love of his life Shawna Stanley and on January 2, 2000, he was united in marriage to Shawna in Bradford, Iowa. In this union, they brought forth three children, Kaiya Vokoun, Takota Vokoun, and Damien Vokoun.

Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his wife Shawna; his children: Jackie Cummings, Katy Mercer, Kaiya Vokoun, Takota Vokoun and Damien Vokoun; his grandchildren: Keegan Wyatt and Anastasia Harder; his mother Judy Vokoun and many other special family members.

He was preceded in death by his father Bob Vokoun and his grandparents, Freeman and Leona Donaldson and Glen and Dorothy Vokoun.
