David “Dave” Ahlemeyer, 68

David “Dave” Ahlemeyer, 68, of Marshalltown, formerly of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 9, 2022.
Memorial services for Dave will take place on Saturday, August 13 at 1:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown with Pastor Jeff Kodis officiating. David Lee Ahlemeyer was born January 20, 1954, in McCook, Nebraska, to parents Victor and Elva (Haines) Ahlemeyer. After graduating from Wilsonville High School in 1972, he went on to attend Doane College in Crete, Nebraska, where he took culinary courses.
He met the love of his life, Jennifer Skinner on a blind date and they were engaged three weeks later. They both knew what they were looking for and saw it in each other. They were united in marriage on April 01, 1978, in Hooper, Nebraska. Dave was working for Burlington Northern Railroad in Lincoln, Nebraska, when he met Jennifer. After they were married Dave worked for around 25 years at the Goodyear Plant in Lincoln, Nebraska. The couple moved to Marshalltown, Iowa, after he accepted a position at Lennox Industries. He went on to work for Green Products Trucking in Marshalltown, where he retired.
In his free time, Dave enjoyed fishing and gardening. He put his culinary lessons to work and was an excellent cook, especially known for his red sauce, goulash, macaroni salad. He had a deep faith and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown. He regularly donated blood over his lifetime and was able to donate over 30 gallons to help those in need. Dave always put others before himself and was best described by everyone who knew him as a great guy.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 44 years, Jenny, of Marshalltown, IA; two sons: Adam Ahlemeyer, of Lincoln, NE and Paul (Lauren) Ahlemeyer, of St. Peters, MO; two grandsons: Isaac and Luke and two brothers: John (Peggy) Ahlemeyer, of Wilsonville, NE and Mark (Mary) Ahlemeyer, of northern Kansas.
In eternal life, Dave is reunited with his parents, Victor and Elva.
