Marjorie Bunn, 95
Marjorie Bunn, 95, of Conrad, IA passed away on the evening of September 19, 2022, at Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2022, at the Conrad United Methodist Church in Conrad. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Interment will be at the Conrad Cemetery. Following the interment, a luncheon will be held at the American Legion Hall in Conrad. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established by the family. Anderson Funeral Homes in Conrad has been entrusted with the arrangements. Marjorie was born April 13, 1927, to Andrew and Hazel (Morey) O’Connor in Liscomb, IA. She grew up in Liscomb, and graduated from Liscomb High School in 1944. Marj was a very good athlete, dominating in basketball. Soon after school she married Darrell Bunn, on January 8, 1947. Marj and Darrell were blessed with five children: Gary, Kathie, Keryl, Karen and Kendra. She spent her early years at home raising her children. Later on, Marj worked at Friday’s car dealership in Conrad doing a variety of things for many years. Marj was always involved in the community where she was known for being a part of The Village of Vale, and the American Legion Auxiliary for over 70 years. Marj taught herself to swim at the Conrad Aquatic Center, and also became a great golfer after the golf course was built. She could always be seen riding her moped around town. Marj loved to go to the casino and watch the Iowa Hawkeyes play. Most of all she will be missed by her family for her loving and caring spirit.
Marj is survived by her four children; Kathie (Jim) Handel, Keryl Hamilton, Karen (Jerry) Thatcher, Kendra (Jim) Daniels, three grandchildren; Jay Daniels, Mindy (Ryan) Ashton, Jeff (Pam) Thatcher, numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, a sister-in-law, Darlene Reece, and a grandchild-in-law, Lynne Thatcher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell, a son, Gary in infancy, a grandson, Tom Thatcher, a son-in-law, Bob Hamilton and her sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Don Case.
