Scott brought his love of all things beautiful and historic to many. In addition to his contributions beautifying friends’ homes, he was in great demand for creating amazing holiday decor throughout the community. He was a longtime active friend, volunteer and member of the Historical Society of Marshall County board of directors, Binford House board of directors and officer of the Early American Glass Club. All of these groups benefited from programs he gave, contributions of objects, hands-on renovation projects and fundraising efforts. Scott was generous with his vast knowledge of local history, antiques and artifacts and architecture. His legacy lives on in the evidence of his vision and expertise that continue to be enjoyed at the Binford House, Glick-Sower Historical Home and the Mowry Irvine Mansion, not to mention innumerable private residences. In 2016, Scott began a partnership with The Brass Armadillo in Des Moines, he was an incredibly successful vendor and asset to the collectible and antique community. He cherished his relationships with the staff, the other vendors, and the patrons alike. He created loving friendships with amazing people and was a generous contributor to the charities and causes the people in his life were passionate about.

Surviving in addition to his mother, Sandra, is his sister Amy (Mason) and her husband Tim Rowell, of Long Beach, CA.

A celebration of life will be held in remembrance of Scott at a date to be determined. Those who wish to remember Scott in a special way may make donations to Corgwyn Rehabilitation Sanctuary (corgwynrehab.org). A corgi rescue organization that graciously took in Scott’s loyal, loving, playful and wonderful corgis, Louis and Gianni.
