Lorene was born December 1, 1966, to Loren and Toni (Canavan) Fisher in Perry, IA. She graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1985. While in high school Lorene participated in track and swimming. She was united in marriage to Tommy Burns on June 6, 1987, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marshalltown. In her early years, Lorene was a waitress and bartender at Golden Corral and Jax Restaurant. She was employed for 20 years at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center as a billing specialist.

Lorene had a love for animals, especially her cats. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and was very good at it. Lorene was always willing to help anyone, loved to talk with friends on the phone, was extremely witty and the best joke teller. She was loved by many friends. Lorene had a love for music and Jackson Brown was her favorite. Her father was a pilot and she loved flying with him when she was young and loved to fly on commercial airlines when her and Tommy would travel.

Lorene was known for never missing work and was very proud of that accomplishment.

Lorene will be missed by her husband, Tommy Burns, of Marshalltown, a son, Max Burns, of Marshalltown, and her mother, Toni (Gregg) Hayes, of San Antonio, TX.

She was preceded in death by her father, Loren Fisher.
