Shirley Dee “Da ka te ta no ga” Sanache, 75, of Mitchellville and formerly of Tama, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022, at her home. A Traditional Wake was held Friday evening at the Fox Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama. Traditional Graveside Services will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Montour with Mike Keahna as speaker.
Survivors include her husband, Rick, of Mitchellville; son, Patrick Steve, of Des Moines; granddaughter, Ashley Steve, of Kansas; brothers, Alvin L. Wild Cat, of Montour, Daniel (Waskonas) Wabaunasee, of Toledo, and Donald Wabaunasee, of Phoenix, AZ; seven nephews; ten nieces; adopted sister, Toni Lasley; adopted brothers, Deron Ward and Gilbert Brown; Sanache family and numerous extended family.
Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo is assisting the family with the arrangements.
