David is survived by his wife, Sue Schmidt; his son, Timmy Allan Schmidt; his six grandchildren; a great grandson; his step-mother Francis Schmidt and his siblings: Robert Schmidt, Roxanne Schmidt, Tammy (John) Harding, Lyle (Robin) Clayton and Randy (Karen) Clayton.
