Larry Sturtz, 78, of Le Grand, IA, passed away Monday, May 22, 2023, at Premier Estates of Toledo in Toledo, IA. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown. Visitation will take place 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 9, 2023, at the funeral home. Interment will follow funeral services at the Conrad Cemetery. Larry Wayne Sturtz “Beard” was born July 4, 1944, to Eldon and Ione (Eckley) Sturtz in Boone, IA. He spent his lifetime working as a repairman for Iowa Power/Alliant before retirement. He was blessed with four children, and adored his time with them. Larry was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom and wild asparagus hunting. In other free time, he was a competitive card player. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge and VFW. Later in life, Larry enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Larry will be missed by his children; Wayne (Dawn) Sturtz, of Ankeny, IA, Dawn Sturtz, of Forrest Lake, MN, Warren (Tina) Sturtz, of Dallas Center, IA, and Julie (Chuck Firanek) Sturtz, of Savannah, GA, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
