Per the wishes of Alan and his family, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will take place on Thursday, July 13 at 10:30 A.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to the Marshalltown Public Library. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 69 years, Joy; his children: James (Roxana) West, Cathy (Kevin) Wiseman and Lori (Terry) Schoppe; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
