Robert graduated from U-W in 1968 and shortly after enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He was eventually stationed in Thailand.

After leaving the service he enrolled in AIB where he earned an associates degree in business. During his leisure time he worked for many years volunteering for Special Olympics which honored him with an outstanding games volunteer award in 1995.

Later Robert went to work for Great Western Life in Denver, Colorado, where he made many friends.

Upon retirement he moved to Vancouver, Washington, to be closer to family.

Robert is survived by two sisters Vicki (Steve) Heil, of Washougal, WA, and Susan (Jeff) Schwarz, of Columbia City, Ore. Also, by two nieces Amber (Patrick) Jerome, of Battle Ground, WA, and Brooke (Dustin) Craig, of Topping, VA, as well as a great niece Lasha Craig.

Preceding him in death are his parents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date to be determined.
