Stephen Wilhelmi, 79
Stephen Wilhelmi, born, Des Moines, IA, 1943, to Ralph and Muriel Wilhelmi, grew up in Marshalltown. Taught Biology at Clackamas HS in Milwaukie, Oregon, from the 70’s to 2000, then in Science Ed. at OSU in Corvallis for several years, died at 79 of Lewy Body, May 26, 2023.
He loved the outdoors: canoeing, fishing, hiking, camping. Drove back roads, heading every summer into the US in his camper via one network or other that connected rural routes to lakes and streams, always stopping in Iowa. He was kind, a well read, amusing, lovely man who acted generously throughout his life.
