Memorial services for Helen will take place on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will start prior to the service, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Please dress casual, and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family for designation at a later time. Helen Ceaser was born on February 15, 1941, in Grinnell, Iowa. She was the daughter of Samuel and Eleanor (Main) Ceaser. Helen attended high school in Grinnell, and after she graduated, attended and received her collegiate degree at AIB Business College. On September 8, 1963, Helen was united in marriage to Delbert Atcher at the Sheridan Methodist Church. Helen had previously worked for the Marshall County courthouse in the recorder’s office. She had also worked for the JC Penny Catalog Department, Queen’s Way, Jeans & Jocks and was a school bus driver for Green Mountain schools. Helen was an avid bowler and was on the Monday night and Tuesday afternoon leagues. She served as secretary of her local leagues and was also a member of the United States Bowling Congress. Helen also enjoyed visiting with friends and family over the phone, doing yard work, tending to her flowers, and just enjoyed being outdoors. Helen was very opinionated and was never afraid to speak her mind. Above all else, she enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Helen is survived by her children: Steven (Pamela) Atcher, of Marshalltown, and Donald (Regena) Atcher, of Rapid City, South Dakota. Grandchildren: Joshua (Mark) Atcher, Jessica (Jacob) Molitor, Nicholas Atcher, Katherine Atcher, Caroline Atcher and Cameron Atcher. She is also survived by her great grandchildren: Olivia, Owen and Grayson and siblings: Norma Brignon, of Grinnell, and James (Ruth) Ceaser, of Altoona, and her rescue animals: Ellie the boxer and Callie the calico cat.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband: Delbert; son: Gregory; granddaughter in infancy; brother-in-law: Richard Brignon and her parents.
