Leora McKibbon
Leora McKibben, 94, of Liscomb, IA, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Grandview Heights in Marshalltown under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Leora Catherine was born May 26, 1929, to Harry and Lucille (Brown) Mann in Marshalltown. She grew up in rural Marshalltown with her family, graduating from Albion High School in 1946. Leora worked at Fisher Controls in Marshalltown for three years and then married Robert McKibben in 1950. They made their home in and around rural Liscomb. She was a member of the Liscomb Church of Christ. Leora worked as church custodian for many years and at CIRSI as a part time caretaker for children with special needs so their parents could be away. One of her special moments was being awarded the CIRSI employee of the month. When she and Bob retired, they enjoyed spending winters in Pharr, TX, where they made many friends.
Leora will be missed by a son, Ellis McKibben, of Liscomb, four grandchildren: David McKibben, of Albion, IA, Matt (Kelsey) McKibben, of Marshalltown, Jeff Arnold, of IN, Jennifer (Justin) Caylor, of IN, four great grandchildren: Holly, Ashton, Tyson and baby boy Caylor, her daughter-in-law, Kristine McKibben, of Albion, sister, Carolyn (Doug) McKelvey, her sister-in-law, Phyllis Mann, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In heaven she has rejoined her husband, Robert, a daughter, Connie, a son, Richard and two brothers, Clarence and Donald.
