Maurice Wabaunasee
Maurice Wayne Wabaunasee, 66, of Tama, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at UnityPoint Hospice in Waterloo. A Traditional Wake was held Thursday Evening, February 8, 2024, starting at 6 PM at Mareno Wabaunasee residence, 391 W. Quail Rd., Tama. Native American Services will be held Friday Evening, February 9, 2024, also at the Mareno Wabaunasee residence. Traditional Graveside Services will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM at McIntosh Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama.
Survivors include his siblings, Mareno (Susie) Wabaunasee, of Tama, Rossano (Jessi) Wabaunasee, of Tama, Melissa (Willie McCall) Wabaunasee, of Tama, Melita (Larry Jr.) Butler, of Shawnee, OK, Melanie Wabaunasee, of Tama, and LaRisha (Joe Ware) Wabaunasee, of Binger, OK; adopted brothers, Travis (Torii) Andrews, of Newalla, OK, and Reginald Ahboah Akeen, of Anadarko, OK; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
