Victor “Duffy” L. O’Brien died at the age of 78 on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Aspire Pleasant Valley nursing home in Pleasant Valley, Iowa. Graveside services will be held 2:30 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2024 at Timber Creek Cemetery in Marshall County, Iowa with Pastor Darren Young performing the services. Victor, the son of Lawrence and Madeline (Berquist) O’Brien, was born August 15, 1945, in Britton, South Dakota. He grew up in the Oregon area before moving to Ferguson, Iowa.
He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence O’Brien; mother, Madeline and step father Alva Garr; his sister, Dora O’Brien; brothers, Ken, Frank, John, Tom and Jim O’Brien.
Victor is survived by a sister, Donna O’Brien; sister-in-law, Pam O’Brien and several nieces and nephews.
Victor enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends, mowing his yard and helping put flags up for the City of Ferguson on holidays and when he was younger, helping the area farmers with chores.
