Barbara Anne was born January 7, 1932, to Clayton and Lillian (Bartlett) Thomas. She grew up in a loving home in Beaman, IA where she enjoyed playing basketball. She graduated from Beaman High School with the class of 1949. Shortly after graduating she married Max Miller on August 21, 1949, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Barb held various jobs through the years, including being a school bus monitor for the bus Max drove.

Max and Barb were happily married for 62 years. They enjoyed camping, dancing, playing cards together and always wore matching outfits everywhere they went. Barb loved being very active in her church, New Hope Christian Church. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading, singing, her beloved dog, Scooter, and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes. Barb was very sociable, loved to be always active and around people, and never missed sending a card to family and friends for every birthday and anniversary. Barb loved spending time with her church family, her friends, and most of all her family. She never knew a stranger and never missed an opportunity to have a cup of coffee and talk.

Barb is survived by her children: Alan (Janalyn) Miller of Marshalltown, Randy (Vicki) Miller of Pleasantville, IA, Scott (Leeann) Miller of Union, IA, Sandy (Mark) Goodman of Liscomb, IA, and Kevin (Kelly) Miller of Stillwater, MN, 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
