Per his and his family's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded, and he will be interred at The Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. No formal services have been scheduled at this time. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years Joyce Powell and his five children and their families: David (Hilary) Powell, of Marshalltown, Iowa; Linda (Mike) Wice, of Oviedo, Florida; Sherry (Pedro Pascual) Powell, of Winsted, Connecticut; Kelly Powell, of Manassas Park, Virginia; and John Powell, of Marysville, Washington; 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren; his brother Jack (Sue) Powell; and his sister-in-law Colleen Powell.
