Janet was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on April 15, 1964, to Vernon and Elvera (Axberg) Pries. Janet was a 1982 graduate of Marshalltown High School and a 1983 graduate of Marshalltown Community College.

Janet met the love of her life, Jeff Boeyink, in 1980 and they married in 1983. They had three children, whom they raised in Muscatine, Iowa before moving to the Des Moines metro area in 2008.

Janet enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom, Mary Kay consultant, daycare provider and Director of Happy Time Preschool in Muscatine, Iowa. A position that Janet held for more than a decade. Janet positively touched the lives of hundreds of children and could hardly go anywhere without children excitedly approaching to say hello to “Mrs. Boeyink”. Upon moving to the Des Moines metro area, Janet acquired her license to sell real estate in the State of Iowa and worked for both Iowa Realty and Keller Williams until her retirement in 2019.

Janet loved spending winters with her husband and beloved dogs in Phoenix, Arizona. Most recently, Janet found fulfillment by volunteering with Healing Hearts Animal Rescue where she helped care for dozens of rescued horses.

Janet was preceded in death by her father Vernon and Elvera (Axberg) Pries. She is survived and deeply missed by her husband, Jeff, sister, Mary (Bill) Clark, brother, Roger (Deena) Pries, children, Alissa (Anthony) Long, James (Ashley) Boeyink, and Nick (Katie) Boeyink, and three grandchildren, Olivia & Charlotte Long, and Carter Boeyink.
