Per the wishes of Tom and his family, cremation rites have been accorded. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Parish – St. Mary Catholic Church. Visitation will start one-hour prior, beginning at 9:30 a.m. He will be laid to rest at the Iowa Veterans Home Cemetery with full military honors provided by the combined VFW/American Legion of the surrounding area. Mitchell Family Funeral has been entrusted with the care of Tom and his family. Memorials may be directed to the Matt Pilkington Scholarship Fund at Marshalltown Community College.
