Joanne was born to John and Mildred (Michels) Stubbs on August 19, 1961, in Marshalltown, IA. She attended Marshalltown Schools graduating in 1979. After graduation she attended the Marshalltown Community College later moving on to the University of Iowa for a degree in Medical Laboratory Technology. In later years Joanne received her master’s in business from Drake.

She was united in marriage to her loving husband Michael (Mike) on March 17, 1984, in Marshalltown. The two had two sons together, Aaron and Levi.

Joanne worked for Mary Greeley as a medical laboratory technologist for over 30 years. After this she had a part time job with Central Iowa Towing in Ames. While there she felt like she gained some extra sons and loved getting to take care of everyone. Finally, Joanne worked for the Iowa Department of Public Health as a data tracker until her passing.

She had a passion for quilting and loved to share her knowledge with whoever was willing to learn. She got most of the family into quilting as well or at least made sure they could run a sewing machine. Her family was everything to her and she was always there to make sure everyone strived to their full potential.

Joanne will be greatly missed and is survived by her husband, Mike Mostrom of Ames, IA; her two sons, Aaron Mostrom of Sioux City, IA and Levi (Kelsey) Mostrom of Ankeny, IA; a granddaughter Lily Mostrom of Ankeny, IA; her mother, Mildred Stubbs of Marshalltown, IA; her two sisters, Lorri Kearns of Desoto, KS and Carolyn (Jeff) Himes of Marshalltown, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, John Stubbs and a daughter in infancy, Leah Mostrom.
