Tom was born to Charles and Marilyn Dodd on July 22, 1955. He was raised in Marshalltown, IA where he attended high school and graduated with the class of 1974. Following high school, he attended the University of Iowa where he received a BA in Marketing in 1979. While attending the university, Tom was a member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. Tom spent his career in sales and marketing in both Minneapolis and Mason City. He later retired to Marshalltown where he could be close to family and the familiarity of “home.” Tom was a lover of golf, a hobby he learned from his father, Chuck. Competitive by nature, but witty and fun, he was always up for a game of “Fairway Cribbage” a game that blends golf and cribbage created and played by the Dodd family. His greatest loves were his family and his dogs.

Tom is survived by his siblings: Emily (Emmy) and husband Jim Spradling of Panora, IA, James (Jim) of Des Moines, IA and John and his wife Shelly (Wenz) of St. Michael, MN. Also surviving are three nieces, Aly Dury and husband Bill, Stephanie and Rachel Dodd. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Marilyn (Smith) Dodd.
