Peter “Pete” Murphy, 75, of Marshalltown, IA passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024, at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. Memorial visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown. Burial will take place at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. Anderson Funeral Homes of Marshalltown has been entrusted with the arrangements. Peter “Pete” was born August 16, 1949, to Tommy and Florence in Bolton, England. He was united in marriage to Kim LaDassor on July 10, 2004, at Bethel Grove Church in rural Liscomb, IA. Pete worked as a Quality Manager for Ace Precision International in Marshalltown before retiring in March of 2015. Pete enjoyed yardwork, fixing up and flipping houses, futbol, and taking his dog to the dog park. He was even a member of the dog park committee. Pete enjoyed any time spent with his family and was a loving father and grandfather.
Pete is survived by his wife, Kim, his children; Jason (Jo) Murphy of Horwich, England, Sharon (Luke) Burke of Gympie, Australia, Simon Murphy of Horwich, England, Abby Murphy, Missy Lang, and Jeff Lang, all of Marshalltown, siblings, Linda (Jim) Leyland and Brian Murphy, several grandchildren, and his beloved fury companion, Teddy. He was preceded in death by his parents.
