Felisha Kapayou
Felisha Ruby Kapayou, “Wa-sa-me-a”, 33, of Tama, passed away, Sunday, May 4, 2025, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. A Traditional Wake was held Monday, May 5, 2025, at the Fox Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement, rural Tama. A Traditional Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Meskwaki Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement, rural Tama.
Survivors include her children: Austyn Kapayou “Ka-ka-moto”, Lyle Kapayou “Ki-we-ska-ka” and Ilana Cortana Bear “Wi-di-ko-we”; father, Roy Kapayou Jr.; mother, Marsha Funmaker; partner, Dayton Bear; sisters: Shelene Balderas, Nizhoni Douglas, Stacy Kapayou, Kenesha Funmaker, Mya Johnson and Jasmine Cooley; brothers: Bryce Kapayou, Kunu Johnson, Marshall Kapayou and Andrew Rave Jr.
Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo is assisting the family with the arrangements.
