Dennis was born on January 7, 1955, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Robert and Jean (Whitmore) Dostal.

He graduated from South Tama in 1974.

Denny was an auctioneer, trucker and farmer. He was employed by Green Products Company in Conrad up until recently. Denny ran the Double D Rodeo for forty-eight years which is a big contributor to Easter Seals. He was a member of the Iowa Auctioneers Association. Through his auctions, he was involved in many benefits and charities over the years…too many to think about listing. In his spare time, he enjoyed trail rides, car shows, motorcycle rides, and spending time with family. He spent many holiday seasons driving his team and trolley in small town festivities. He loved his horses, Coors Light and Peach Schnapps.

Survivors include his significant other, Vickie Lacina of Gladbrook; children, Kathy Kucera of Traer, Darin (Melissa) Dostal of Grinnell, and Drew (Mikaella) Dostal of Independence; grandchildren, Katelyn, Nathan (Grace), and Madelyn Kucera, Jolene, Tyler, Lucas, and Caleb Dostal and Deacon Dostal; an aunt; and several cousins.

Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Dillon on October 6, 2022.
