Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, September 12 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. A funeral service has been scheduled for Saturday, September 13 starting at 2:00 P.M., also at the funeral home. Pastor Emily Blue will be officiating. Donald will be laid to rest at the Melbourne Memorial Garden in Melbourne, Iowa. Everyone is encouraged to dress in casual or Iowa State attire. Left to cherish his memory are his four daughters: Megan (Haley) Zahnd, of North Carolina, Savannah Zahnd, of Melbourne, Josilyn Zahnd and Lilian Zahnd, both of State Center, IA.; his four grandchildren; his siblings: Debra Creason, of Waterloo, Charles Zahnd, of Des Moines, and Kenneth (Penny) Zahnd, of Marshalltown; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
