Bradley Alan Lane was born April 2, 1969, in Marshalltown, Iowa to Dennis “Shady” and Susan (Horn) Lane. Brad grew up in Marshalltown and graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1987. He received his Bachelors of Science in Computer Sciences from Iowa State University in 1999.

On May 15, 2001, he was united in marriage to Tani Long in St. Lucia. They made their home together in Marshalltown and raised their two children, Holden and Addison. Brad was fortunate to work from their home for the past 26 years as a Principal Software Developer for Pearson.

Brad loved the outdoors. He enjoyed his summers with his family and friends at Sun Valley Lake. You could always find him fishing off the dock at all hours of the day. In the fall, he looked forward to taking Holden and their German shorthairs pheasant hunting. Some of his most cherished hunting memories were trips to South Dakota with his lifelong friends. When Brad got into something he was all in… he took up running in his 40’s and quickly knocked out 20 marathons in 13 different states. Also in the summers, he enjoyed playing golf at Lincoln Valley in State Center and attending as many concerts and live music events as he was able. His coveted collection of concert shirts dates back to the 80’s. Additionally, he was an avid reader, played in dart leagues and fed his competitive spirit playing video games.

Brad was also a very passionate Iowa State Cyclone fan. He had season tickets for many years to ISU football and basketball and followed the wrestling team as well.

His death has left a void in the hearts of his family and friends. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his wife of 24 years, Tani Lane; his children, Holden Lane and Addison Lane; his four-legged furry children, Roxy and Enzo; his mother, Susan Lane; brother, Brian (Michelle Freidhoff) Lane; nieces and nephews, Kreyton, Carter, Lula, Rylee, Seth, Frankie and Neve; mother and father-in-law, Connie (Gary) Long; brother and sister-in-law, Toni (Darin Shipley) Freese and Troy (Allison) Long; alongside his many close friends that were considered family.
