William “Bill” Grimes, formerly of State Center, passed away on November 12, 2025. Born on April 2, 1942, Bill dedicated his life to education, mentorship and community service.

Bill continued his career coaching and teaching at Anson Jr. High in Marshalltown and later served as both an elementary and middle school principal at West Marshall, where he continued to shape young lives and support families and staff with compassion and integrity.

Remembered for his warm spirit, steady leadership and unwavering commitment to students, Bill leaves behind a legacy of kindness and service that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
