Jerry Thiessen
Jerry Thiessen, 85, a devoted husband, loving father, proud veteran and dedicated member of the Toledo community, passed away on the morning of Thursday, November 27, 2025, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown with his family at his side. At this time, cremation rites have been accorded by the wishes of Jerry. A celebration of life will be held in the spring at a date to be announced and will take place at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials in Jerry’s name may be directed to his family for a later designation. Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his wife of 22 years, Linda Thiessen; his children: Rev. Ryan Thiessen, of London, U.K., daughter, Amber, Schulz, of Omaha, NE; his step-children: Theresa Shaver, of Grimes, IA, Vickie Skyberg, of Tama, IA, Steve Buchanan Jr., of Cedar Rapids, IA and Amanda Wobeter, of Toledo, IA; 20 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren who will all carry on his spirit of kindness and dedication. Jerry is also survived by his two brother, Lavern Thiessen and Roger Thiessen, his sister, Jane Tate along with numerous nieces and nephews.
