She was born on December 20, 1936. Carol is survived by daughters Mary Mycka and Beth Ann Booth and son Rich Mycka. Also stepchildren Ann Stalzer, James Irwin, John Irwin and Jeff Irwin. She enjoyed grandchildren from both families and several great grandchildren.

She lived most of her adult life in Marshalltown with husband Dick Mycka, who died in 1985. She later married Don Irwin, and enjoyed many good friends together in Marshalltown until his death in 2017.

She was active as a volunteer at Salvation Army and Hospice. She volunteered and worked at Pleasant Hill for 11 years.
