Jean Hinegardner
Jean M. Hinegardner, 101, of Montour, passed away Friday, February 6, 2026, at her home under the loving care of Iowa River Hospice following a brief illness. It was Jean’s wish to make an anatomical gift to the University of Iowa Hospital through their deeded body program. A Celebration of Life is planned for Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 1-3 PM at the Montour Community Building.
Survivors include her son, David (Julie) Hinegardner; daughter, Betty Santema; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Also mourning her loss is chosen family member, Humberto Meza; sister, Ardis Babcock; brother John (Margie) Holmes and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
