Cathy Wetherbee
Cathy Jo Wetherbee, 73, of State Center, IA passed away Monday, February 23, 2026, at State Center Specialty Care. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow the service at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown, with a luncheon at the funeral home to follow. Anderson Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the arrangements. Cathy was born January 18, 1953, to John and Janet (Mitchell) Wetherbee in Marshalltown. Cathy spent her teenage and early adult years with her family in Wisconsin and Fort Dodge, IA, before returning to Marshalltown. She worked at Mid-Iowa Workshop for a number of years until moving to State Center Specialty Care in 2005, which she would call home for the rest of her life. Cathy enjoyed playing games on her tablet, keeping up with local events, and most of all, video calling with her family or chatting on the phone with friends. Cathy was a force to be reckoned with; she had a great sense of humor and loved her extended family dearly. She will be missed by many.
Cathy is survived by her brothers, Bill (Diane) Wetherbee of Lantana, TX, and Jeff (Sharon) Wetherbee of Sartell, MN, her nephews and nieces, James Wetherbee, Jeannette Guggisberg, Jason Wetherbee, Joe Wetherbee, Kelsey Wetherbee, and Kaitlin Vanderslice, 10 great-nephews and nieces, and her dear friend, Jennifer Price. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Janet.
