Elise is survived by her husband, Dennis R. McCann, her two sons, Ian P. McCann and Kevin R. McCann and daughter-in-law, Manami, Kevin’s wife. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johan and Alma From.

Elise was born on April 28,1955. A former Finnish citizen, she was so proud of being a Swedish Finn, as she came from a region settled by the Swedes and which continues to have a large Swedish heritage. Her early years she lived in Pojo, Finland – a beautiful area near the Bay of Bothia. Her father was a veteran of the Winter War between Finland and the Soviet Union.

Elise married Dennis on December 21, 1988. Dennis was a Foreign Service Officer, with whom she travelled worldwide when accompanying Dennis on his assignments.

Elise was multilingual, speaking fluent Swedish, Finnish, German, and English. She was a skilled administrator with an excellent memory, and a devoted sports fan; she remembered and recited the names of every medalist at the European track and field championships and Grand Slam tennis winners for the past 40 years.

She will be sorely missed by her family, to whom she fully devoted her thoughts.

Elise will be taken home to Finland to rest with her parents
