Richard Allen, 88, of rural Marshalltown, IA passed away Monday, March 2, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his family. Cremation rites have been accorded and no formal services will be held at this time. Anderson Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the arrangements. Richard William Allen was born to Chloris (Moore) and William Allen on December 30, 1937, in Grinnell, IA. He was united in marriage to the lovely Emily Luella Roberts on June 21, 1991, at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Previously Richard had a daughter, Sue, and a son, Scott. He also loved his stepchildren Shelly, Troy, and Todd as if they were his own. Richard spent most of his life as a farmer in Marshalltown alongside his wife.
He will be missed dearly by his loving wife Emily; his daughter Sue Taylor; his son Scott Allen; step-daughter Shelly Branon; step-sons, Troy Branon and Todd Branon; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and four sisters. He was proceeded in death by his parents.
