Robert “Bob” Laws

Robert “Bob” L. Laws formally of Melbourne, IA passed away Thursday, March 12th, 2026. He was under the care of the Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Cremation rites have been accorded. A combined private family graveside service will be held for Bob and his late wife Linnette at a later date. Linnette preceded Bob in death on Thursday, December 6, 2018. Their wishes were to have a combined burial surrounded by loved ones. Arrangements have been entrusted to Anderson Funeral Homes of Marshalltown. Bob was born January 25, 1929, son of Kenneth and Laura (Linn) Laws in Ravanna, Missouri. On a sheep ranch in Montana, he met the love of his life, Linnette Ring. They were married on April 20th, 1948. Together they raised two boys, Tom and Ken. After moving around for several years, they settled in Melbourne. Bob worked in different areas of the transportation department and as an over-the-road truck driver. During their retirement years Bob and Linnette enjoyed living in a fifth-wheel and doing mission work with Campers on Mission. Building and updating churches mostly in Texas, Mexico and on some Native American land. After their second retirement they moved to Oskaloosa, Iowa where they lived until their passing.

In death he joins his wife of 70 years Linnette (Ring) Laws. Bob is survived by his two sons, Tom (wife, Jacque Heintz) Laws of Marshalltown and Ken Laws of Oskaloosa. Four grandchildren, Vanessa (Tony) Robinson of Pueblo, Colorado, Keena (Brandon) Clay of Denver, Colorado, Nathan (Elizabeth) Laws of Dubuque, Iowa and Zach (Rachel) Laws of Marshalltown, Iowa. Ten great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and one nephew Bill (Linda) Laws of Buckeye, Arizona.
