She was born on August 13, 1943 to Otis Wilson and Irma Johnson in Marshalltown, Iowa. She married Roger Gienger in 1962, living their early years in Marshalltown. Their family moved to Beaman in 1970.

Jan is survived by her sons Tracy (Sue) Gienger, Newton and Todd Gienger of Beaman. Grandchildren; Shaun, Geoff (Rhonda), Derrek (Rosalie) and “grandson-of-the-heart” Ryan Hegdahl. Sister Nicki (Marvin) Brewer, sister-in-law Cathy Weatherly, several cousins and nieces and nephews.

A celebration will take place at a later time. Condolences and memorials may be directed to the Gienger Family at P.O. Box 55 Beaman, Iowa 50609. Memorials will be directed to Hospice of the Midwest and the Beaman Church by the family.
