Per the wishes of Mary Lou and her family, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will take place at New Hope Christian Church in Marshalltown at 10:30 AM on Monday, May 18 with Pastor Kerry Jech officiating. Additional family-led services will take place on Thursday, June 11 at 11:00 A.M. at Eureka United Methodist Church in Eureka, KS. She will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials in her name may be directed to Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer awareness or the American Red Cross. Left to cherish her memory are her six children: Charlotte Chadderdon, of Marshalltown, IA, Donna (Wayne) Loveland, of Devon, PA, Bonnie (Donnie) Kaufman, of Albuquerque, NM, Abie (Penni) Chadderdon, of Marshalltown, IA, Cindy (Kevin) Wood, of Payson, AZ, and Marilee Clites, of Wichita, KS; 17 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; and her sister Kathryn “Jeannie” (Henry) McGowan, of AZ.
