Roger Roy Halleck, 84, of Marshalltown, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Southridge Specialty Care in Marshalltown.

Roger Halleck was born on November 2, 1941 in Rockwell City, Iowa. He was the son of Patrick and Mildred (Brown) Halleck. Roger obtained his law degree at Indiana University in 1966. He was united in marriage to Jane Clough, and their union lasted twenty-five plus years. Roger had been a civil rights attorney in Des Moines for the state of Iowa and had been a Judge for Marshall County. He was a member of the Central Iowa River Gun Club and enjoyed target shooting. Roger also enjoyed collecting coins and going to coin shows, following the stock market, watching sports, especially horse racing and was an animal lover. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Marshalltown.
Roger is survived by his wife: Jane. Step-children: Todd (Rob Sandquist) Pope-Sandquist, Tedd Pope and Wendy (Joel) Lang. Grandchildren: Peyton and Preston Pope and Logan, Noah and Oliver Lang. He is also survived by his siblings: Richard (Karen) Halleck and Betty Hannan along with numerous nieces and nephews. Roger is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
