Frank McClain
Frank D. McClain, age 64, of Gladbrook, Iowa, passed away peacefully on the evening of June 23, 2026 in the comfort of his home.
A visitation for Frank will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026 from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Memorials in Frank’s name may be directed to his family for a later designation. Frank Dean McClain was born February 5, 1962 in San Fernando, California. He was the youngest of six children born to William “Will” and Beverly (Sulivan) McClain. Frank grew up in Sylmar, California and would later graduate from Sylmar High School.
Frank met Colleen Donnely and the two were united in marriage. They made their home in Sylmar and raised two daughters, Paige and Ambra. Frank and Colleen later divorced and then he met Rene Santoro. From their union, Frank gained three additional children, Tabitha, Linsay and Michael. Frank spent numerous years in the construction field. Over the years, he worked for various companies across California and even had the pleasure to own his own business. He moved to Iowa in 2016 calling Gladbrook home. He often called himself a member of the School of Hard knocks. In his free time, Frank spent time outdoors going fishing and hunting as well as participating in various bowling leagues in Marshalltown.
Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his wife, Rene; his children from his first marriage and their families, Paige (Jason) McClain-Georgelos and Ambra (Louie) Landeros; grandchildren, Christopher (Madison) McClain, Trever Georgelos, Patrick Landeros, Blane Landeros and Brenden Landeros; one great-grandson, Greyson McClain; his children and their families from his second marriage, Tabitha (Justin) McClain-Crosby, Linsay McClain and Michael McClain; grandchildren, Alexandrea McClain, Michelle McClain, Ayeden Crosby and Madylynn Crosby. Additionally, he is survived by his siblings, Ronald (Becky) McClain, David McClain and Robert (Diana) Marlatt along with several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Will and Beverly McClain; grandson, Joey Landeros; and siblings, Don McClain, Danny McClain and Ricky McClain.
