Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. Donna will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Cemetery, near Gladbrook. Memorial donations may be directed to family for later designation.

Donna was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on January 12th 1932. Her parents were Alfred and Mamie (Jubeck) Shultz. She attended school in Marshalltown and graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1949.

She met Darwin Lynch (the love of her life) and married on August 28, 1949. They were married 66 years until Darwin’s passing in 2016. Together they had 3 sons, Douglas (Peggy) Lynch of West Des Moines, IA, Kerry (Rose) Lynch of Castaic CA and Kevin (Mary) Lynch of Mesa, AZ.

Donna helped Darwin farm until they retired and moved to Marshalltown, Iowa in 2000. She also sold Princess House Crystal and specialties for the Vernon Co.

Donna was a longtime member of Chapel United Methodist Church in rural Gladbrook and was an active member. In her younger years, at church she was a leader of the “Little Herald Children’s” group and later she and Darwin were youth leaders for several years. She was a longtime member of U.M.W. women's group (United Methodist Women). For many years, she planned the annual church trip taking many people to interesting Iowa places including several day bus trips.

Donna enjoyed being with people and belonged to several organizations over the years including, card clubs, local Red Hat Society and YMCA swim club. Donna was a former member of Chapel Volunteers, Chapel L.C.A., Gladbrook Women’s Club, Charter member of O.W.O. Club and Spring Creek & Vienna Homemakers. She and her husband were members of several camping clubs and have traveled much of the country and enjoyed wintering in the south.

Surviving are her three sons, Douglas (Peggy) Lynch of West Des Moines, IA, Kerry (Rose) Lynch of Castaic CA and Kevin (Mary) Lynch of Mesa, AZ. Grandchildren, Andrew (Julie) Lynch of Franklin, TN, Stefanie (Chris) Neumer of Waukee, IA and Misty (Mary Kelley Kearney) Lynch of Sawyer, MI, Jacob (Jennifer) Lynch of Phoenix, AZ and Jaret (Mina) Lynch of Phoenix, AZ. 6 great grandchildren, Emma and Jackson Lynch, Sofia and Alexa Neumer, Natalia Lynch and Calun Lynch.

Donna is survived by her brother, Dwayne (Maxie) Shultz Marshalltown IA; Sisters-in-law, Mary Shultz of Marshalltown IA, Janice Larsen of West Des Moines, IA and Darbie Lynch of Gladbrook, IA; as well as a very large extended family and many good friends.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband Darwin; her parents, Alfred and Mamie Shultz; brother, Dennis Shultz; 3 brothers in-law, Bill Tessau, Dale Larsen, Mark Lynch; sister in-law, Doris Tessau; and many aunts and uncles.

Donna’s family and friends cherish the memories of her and are blessed to have had her in their lives for 94 plus years.
