Mary Kloppenborg
Mary Alice Wiese Kloppenborg died on July 21st, 2026 in Springfield, MO at the age of 84.
She was born on September 19th, 1941 in Marshalltown, IA to David and Alice Wiese.
She was a 1959 graduate of Melbourne High School after which she attended Lakeland College in Wisconsin.
On May 29th, 1960 she married Larry Nason Kloppenborg at The Church of Christ in Melbourne, IA.
Mary and Larry made their home in Marshalltown for 40 years where they raised 3 sons. They were members of the Moose Lodge and Mary was active with bowling, sewing, quilting, gardening and her family and many friends. She had several jobs including Benson Optical and Wolfe Eye Clinic.
In 2000, Larry and Mary moved to Nixa, MO where she was a bus attendant for the Nixa School District and enjoyed playing bingo.
She is survived by her husband Larry of Nixa, her sons Nason (Diana) of Lawrence, KS, David (Melanie) of Miller, MO and Tony (Shelley) of Marshalltown, IA her brothers Leonard Wiese of Alexandria, NH and Lloyd (Linda) Wiese of Winona, MN, her grandchildren Erica (David) Creed of Lawrence, KS, Annamaria (Crystal and Fiore) Kloppenborg of West Des Moines, IA, Allison (Tristan) Kloppenborg of Cedar Rapids, IA, Caleb (Jennifer) Kloppenborg of Mt Vernon, MO and Olivia Kloppenborg of Marshalltown, IA step grand children Andrew (Destiny)Hoxworth of Crane, MO and Sarah Hoxworth of Miller, MO.
She was proceeded in death by her parents David and Alice Wiese and her sister Linda Richeson.
Her ashes will be interred at the Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO.
A celebration of life is scheduled for September 27th, 2026 from 1 to 3 pm at the Eagles Lodge at 603 West Farm Rd 182 Springfield, MO 65810.
