Richard “Dick” Edward Naughton, 91, of Marshalltown, IA passed away Monday, July 27, 2026, at his residence surrounded by family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at St. Francis of Assisi – St. Henry Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 3, 2026, at Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown followed by a vigil service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted with Anderson Funeral Homes. Dick was born on April 23,1935 in Pocohantas, Iowa and baptized on the kitchen table. He was a hard worker, starting out at his parents' butcher shop. Later he graduated from electronics school and worked on the Titan Missile program. In 1971, he and his wife started Servicemaster of Marshalltown which has provided for three generations.
In 1954, Dick married Mary Lou Maneman. He treasured their marriage of 72 years, inspiring his family and friends. They enjoyed spending time together, especially for 17 fun and interesting years of full time RVing.
He wished to be remembered as loving, thoughtful, handy, helpful and that he gave good hugs. His family also remembers him as a lover of nature, curious and inventive with a wonderful sense of humor. He was a grateful member of Alcoholics Anonymous since 1974.
Dick was a supportive father to 5 children: Rich (Micki), Lisa Schoborg (Merle), Mark (Rosemarie) Julie (Kurmit Rockwell), and Amy (TBD). He will be greatly missed by 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by their son Mark.
