Vicky Risk
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Vicky Marie Risk on May 7, 2026, at the age of 74, following an unexpected and severe stroke. A small comfort is knowing that her choice to be an organ donor has given other families more time with their loved ones.
Vicky is survived by her husband Bill Risk, of Tempe AZ, children: Jeff Hilsabeck, his wife Michelle, their son, of West Des Moines, IA; Daughter Stacy Hilsabeck, of Clive, IA; Matt Hilsabeck and his two daughters, of San Tan Valley, AZ, bonus daughter Heather Risk her wife Risë Pavey, of Camp Verde, AZ, her siblings, Bob Menzel, wife Jan, of Ottawa, KS, and Diana Ward, of Conrad, IA along with their families.
In lieu of a formal service, friends and family are welcome to gather for an informal celebration of life and visitation on Saturday, July 25, 2026, between 1pm -3pm at Mitchell Family Funeral Home, 1209 Iowa Ave. W., Marshalltown, IA 50158. The family will be holding burial services following the visitation. Final resting place will be the Conrad Cemetery in Conrad, IA.
