Cleo June (Huntsman) Gauthier, 97, of Marshalltown, IA passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Glenwood Place in Marshalltown. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at St. Francis of Assisi – St. Henry Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. A continued time of fellowship and lunch will follow the service in the church luncheon room. Private family burial will be held at Oakhill Cemetery in Corning, IA. Anderson Funeral Homes of Marshalltown has been entrusted with the arrangements. . Cleo was born in Montgomery County in SW Iowa to Bert and Beulah (Cottrell) Huntsman on June 3, 1929. She was raised in Corning, IA. She attended school in Corning and that's where she met her husband, Raymond and they were high school sweethearts. They were married in Corning on May 2, 1949. They had four boys, David, Jim, Jon, Steve, and one daughter, Teresa. They raised their children in the Catholic faith, where they attended Catholic school. Cleo worked at Turner Clothing Store in Corning before starting her family.
They moved to Marshalltown in the 1960's. Cleo raised her children till school age and then began her career at Maurices in the Marshalltown Mall in 1972. She was manager of Maurices for over 20 years. She retired from Maurices and went to work at Younkers in children's dept., until she retired.
She belonged to St. Henry's Study Club, and they enjoyed each other's company with prayers and luncheons at each other's houses.
Cleo belonged to a large Huntsman and Gauthier family. She is the last of her age group in the Gauthier family. There were many, many trips to Corning for family reunions and Gauthier celebrations.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren which includes; Dave (Sue) Gauthier, Tama, IA - their family: son Chad (Michele) Gauthier, Beaman, IA; Alyssa (Zach) McCarthy, Cameron & Savannah, Conrad, IA; Lauren (Taylor) Runge, Easton & Evie, Grundy Center, Jim (Deanna) Gauthier, Marshalltown and family: Jenny (Jon) Fisher + Grace (Austin) Shomo, Luke, Ally and Nolan; Andy (Brooke) Gauthier, Duluth, MN and Briley & Ella; Jason Gauthier, son Gavin; Jon Gauthier, Minneapolis, MN, Teresa (Greg) Erickson, Sioux Falls, SD and family: Alyssa (Scott) Green + family, Maximus, Raymond and Eloise; Scott Erickson; Ryan (Kirsty) Erickson and Tucker, Steve (Julie) Gauthier and daughter Morgan (Austin) Feldmann and twins, Owen & Emma.
Preceding her in death was; husband, Raymond; mother & father, Beulah & Bert Huntsman; brother, Richard Huntsman & wife Norma; grandson, Mathew; great-grandson, Luke; and many sisters and brothers-in-law, and nieces & nephews.
The family wants to show their appreciation of the excellent care she received at Glenwood Place from their staff and Suncrest Hospice.
