Bonita Paige

Bonita Paige, 83 of Marshalltown, IA passed away Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, IA.  Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Hope United Methodist Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2026 at Hope Methodist Church in Marshalltown. A luncheon will follow the services in the church fellowship hall. Burial will take place at St. John's Cemetery in rural Haverhill following lunch. Memorials may be directed to Hope United Methodist Church and Marshalltown Public Library. Bonita Marie Harrington, the eldest child and only daughter of Lloyd Ernst and Marie Anna (Bollhoefer) Harrington, was born on 3 March 1943 at the Deaconess Hospital, Marshalltown, Iowa. She lived most of her early years on a farm south of Van Cleve and attended Van Cleve Consolidated School kindergarten through 11th grade. She graduated from Marshalltown Senior High in 1961, Marshalltown Community College in 1963, and Drake University in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.

She was employed with Avco Space and Missile Systems in Lowell and Wilmington, Massachusetts, Project Communicate of Northwest Missouri in Maryville, Missouri, and Security Bank, in Marshalltown.

In 1965 she married Dennis Arthur Lynk. That marriage was completed in 1974. In 1982 she married Walden James Paige and together they lived in the communities of Maxwell, Garwin, Columbus Junction, Clarinda and Gilmore City, returning to Marshalltown in retirement.

Bonita was an avid reader. she enjoyed word searches, jigsaw puzzles, singing, playing the piano and especially spending quality time with family and friends. She lived each day fully seeking and often finding the sacred in the ordinary.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, stepson Tadd Joshua Paige, brothers Paul and Diane (Brown) Harrington, John and Pamela (Huehn, Sevde) Harrington, sisters-in-law Roberta Paige and Christine (Lemon) Paige and brother-in-law Timothy and Joan (Thomas) Paige, 15 nieces and nephews and 18 great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Lawrence Paige and great nephew Liam Nosek.
