Elizabeth A. Wood, 91, of Marshalltown, IA, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Southridge Specialty Care of Marshalltown. Cremation rites have been accorded and a private family burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted with Anderson Funeral Homes of Marshalltown. Elizabeth was born October 30, 1934, in Emmetsburg, IA to Valora and Marie (Carpenter) Maiden. She spent her childhood in Mason City, IA, graduating high school with the class of 1953. She went on to earn an associate of arts degree in May of 1986 from MCC. Elizabeth was united in marriage to Charles Wood in Mason City on July 22, 1956. The two moved to Marshalltown in 1958, where they would call home for the rest of their lives.
Elizabeth was a homemaker, taking care of their three children; Mark, Timothy, and Shelley. She was a long-time member of the First Methodist Church and Lioness Club. She enjoyed baking and cooking. She loved to sing and one of her favorite things was being a wedding hostess at the church for several years.
Elizabeth will be missed by her husband, Chuck of Marshalltown, her son, Tim Wood of Marshalltown, her daughter, Shelley Wood, of Billings, MT, and her grandson, Larson Stavnes of Billings, MT. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Wood and her siblings; Manoa "Bud" Maiden, John Maiden, Mary Nesset, and Charles Larson.
