John B. Schatzman Jr., 67, of Albion, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on the afternoon of October 17, 2026, in the comfort of his own home under the care of Iowa River Hospice.
Per John's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, beginning at 10:30 A.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. A visitation for family and friends will be held one-hour prior to services. Those in attendance are encouraged to come dressed in casual attire. Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his loving companion of over 16 years, Suzana Taylor; his children: DeAna (Andy Morris) Schatzman, John (Lindsey) Schatzman III, Roger Taylor, Meagan (Kenny) Calkins and Cody (Emilie) Taylor; nine grandchildren; great-granddaughter and one more on the way; siblings: Allen Angel, Jackie (Denny) Karsjen and Jolene (Dusty) Mayer; sister-in-law, Becky; and numerous nieces and nephews.
