Mary Reisinger, 77, of Clemons, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at UnityPoint-Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Memorial service for Mary will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will begin prior to the service, at 1:00 p.m. Please dress casual. Memorials may be directed to the family. Mary Lang was born on January 2, 1949 in Canton, Illinois. She was the daughter of Harold and Wanda (Purtle) Lang. Mary graduated from West Marshall High School in 1967. On June 8, 1968, Mary was united in marriage to Bruce Reisinger at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in State Center. Mary worked at the Iowa Veterans Home for twenty-nine years as a secretary, retiring in 2008. She was a member of AFSCME and ABATE of Iowa. Mary enjoyed going cruising around in her convertible, spending winter's in Texas, trout fishing, riding Harley's and fishing. She also liked tending to her flower beds, hummingbirds, slow pitch softball, crafts, mushroom hunting, collecting turtles and enjoyed the occasional margarita. Above all else, Mary enjoyed the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years: Bruce. Children: Shannon (Kristen) Reisinger of Iowa City and Sheri Whitney of Spring Branch, Texas. Grandchildren: Leah Reisinger and Sophia (Efrain) Lopez and great-granddaughter: Riley Lopez. She is also survived by her siblings: Linda Cox of Des Moines, Janet German of Boone, Joyce Barron of Carroll, Loretta Kimball of Fountain, Colorado, Robert "Bob" Lang of Saucier, Mississippi and Becky Carr of Le Grand along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Martha "Marty" Barnett, James "Jim" Lang and Jerry Lang.
