Angel wings were awarded to Karen Mills, of Marshalltown, on October 31, 2026. She was under the compassionate care of Iowa River Hospice Home.
Per Karen and her family's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, November 6, 2026, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Karen's Celebration of Life will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with John Whitehead officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a future designation. Those left to cherish Karen's memory include her husband, Edward A. Mills; her seven children: Arriel Roe, Jamie (Ruben) Martinez, Eric Lewis, Nathan Stevenson, all of Marshalltown, Lisa Brindle and Scott (Amber) Mills and Jeff (Erin) Mills; her 14 grandchildren; her siblings: Doug (Jess) Loffgren, of Albion, and Pam (Gene) Fuller, of Marshalltown, her bonus siblings: John Whitehead III, Adam Whitehead, and Les Marple, of Ormond Beach, Florida.
